This is the green juice I make almost daily to get a good dose of alkalizing produce in one beautiful drink…
Serves 1-2
Ingredients
5-6 mint leaves
1 Granny Smith apple
5-6 large kale leaves
1 medium cucumber
Directions
There is no wrong way to make a green juice. Just know the sweetness will depend on the ratio of more kale to mint/apple. I usually recommend adding no more than one piece of fruit (apple, pear, pineapple) to the juice due to sugar. But if you just starting to experiment with juicing on your own, play with the ratios. If you find the ratio is a bit too bitter or sweet, you can easily add more produce and find that desired flavor. Mint is my absolute favorite way to add sweetness to juices…it really combats bitterness and is less sugar than adding more fruit.
*Quick health tip for juicing: Be VERY mindful of sugar when juicing! Fruit juices in particular contain so much sugar, as well as the vast majority of ready-made juices available to buy. Many companies prioritize creating a sweet, appealing flavor over your health…and no surprise, a green juice that is a bit bitter is way healthier for you than a sweet one that’s 50% apple juice.
